My name is Lee, I’m 38 years old as of 2019 (I will forget to update this for years most likely). The most important things to know about me are that I’ve been an avid explorer and outdoorsman for as long as I can remember, been a rock climber since I was 12, photographer since I was 15, studied physics for 9 years in my late 20’s and early 30’s, I was married and divorced, and then recently married Cat (the other person that writes in this blog/website) in July 2019. She is my running and exploring partner, best friend, and life-mate.

A passion to explore is what has led me to photography. Then my curious and slightly obsessive compulsive instinct kicked in to learn everything I could about taking pictures. I had taken photography classes in high school, converted my bathroom into a darkroom in my late teens and early twenties. But photography and I had a falling out for a few years until I bought my first DSLR in 2011 when I moved to Alaska. I started exploring again. The two hobbies are very symbiotic as I’m then drawn to find the most photogenic places I can. I love to write, I love to explore, I love to take pictures and I’m always trying to find excuses to combine those things. Hence . . . adventure blog.

I have two other websites – my old blog that is being converted to a more technical photography website at https://lwpetersen.com as well as my photo portfolio and gallery pages at https://photos.lwpetersen.com.
